Does any song in the world actually...sort of..follow your life? What I am saying, is does one song actually follow how your liove life is going? One song does for me. It is called "Sometimes" I don't know who wrote it, but I do know that it is on Brittney Spears new CD. Have any of you heard it? Here are some of the lyrics:

"Sometimes I run, Sometimes I hide. Sometimes I'm scared of you, but all I really want is to hold you tight"

Those are the main lyrics of the song that describe how its going for me. I would like to hear yours. Thanks to all that care

Yes, there is a song. It's no secret that I love the Smashing Pumpkins, infact, they're all I listen to.

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear this song was written for me. Mr. Billy Corgan is a lyrical genious, and a most emotional human being. I owe him almost all of my sanity.

This song blew me away the first time i heard it, I cried and cried. I still get emotional when I listen to it. (I listen to this song everyday of my "life") It's my favorite song in the entire universe.

If you ever want to know what my life is like, listen to this song. Agent_Orange is "Mayonaise"

Mayonaise- The Smashing Pumpkins

Fool enough to almost be it
Cool enough to not quite see it
Doomed
Pick your pockets full of sorrow
And run away with me tomorrow
June

We'll try and ease the pain
But somehow we'll feel the same
Well, no one knows
Where our secrets go

I send a heart to all my dearies
When your life is so, so dreary
Dream
I'm rumored to the straight and narrow
While the harlots of my perils
Scream

And I fail
But when I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will

Mother weep the years I'm missing
All our time can't be given
Back
Shut my mouth and strike the demons
That cursed you and your reasons
Out of hand and out of season
Out of love and out of feeling
So bad

When I can, I will
Words defy the plans
When I can, I will

Fool enough to almost be it
And cool enough to not quite see it
And old enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this

No more promise no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me
When I can, I will
Try to understand
That when I can, I will

------------------
If I knew where I was going, I'd already be there.

Kind of. Collective Soul/Run a bit.
"Are these times contagious?
I've never been this bored before.
Is this the price I've waited for?"

And 98 Degrees has a song that really lifts ny spirits, makes me feel great, True to Your Heart:
"True to your heart.
You must be true to your heart.
That's when the heavens will part.
And shower you with my love.
Open your eyes.
Your heart can tell you no lies.
And when you're true to your heart,
I know it's gonna lead you straight to me."

------------------
Love Always.
Waiting For Magic.

There is a song from way back called "Oooo......child" I don't really know who does it. But anytime I'm in a sucky situation or something's really bothering me I like to sing it and it makes me feel better. The chorus goes something like this.....
"Ooooo,child.....Things are gonna get easier, Ooooo,child.....Things will get brighter"
I think you know what I'm talking about.

The song you are talking about, BaddDogg, is "Gotta Be" by Des'ree.

The song that defines my most is ultimately "Just" by Radiohead.

"You do it to yourself,
it's true
and that's why it really hurts"

"You do it to yourself,
it's true
You and no one else!!"

or "Big Bang Baby" by The Stone Temple Pilots (Before the original Lead singer turned into a drug crazed freak)

"So, Turn it up and burn it,
There's a hole in your head,
There's a hole in your head,
(Where the Birds can't Sing along)
Does anybody know how the story really goes, how the story really goes?
(Or do we all just hum along?)

Big Bang Baby it's a blast, blast, blast!
Sell your soul, Sign an Autograph,
Orange Crush Mama it's a bash, bash, bash!!"

Now that was a song!!!

TheCrow- I thought I was the only guy who's heard that Britney Spears song. Yeah, that one defines me too. I like the song a lot, although sometimes it gets me a little sad. I'm not sure if I can say that any song defines my life perfectly, but there are songs that help me through life, make life better. Too many to list here, though...

Sheikah: Yeah, I like that song a lot. I am not ashamed for liking Brittney Spears music, because I don't care what other people think of me. And trust me, I bet a lot of people listen to her music (guys) but they don't want to admit it

Nice try Mr Penguin but my favorite song is Muzzle by the Smashing Pumpkins.

Followed closely by "Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows" Close but no tobacco-related sex toy. God was that a crappy joke. I am nothing.

Hmm.....oh so many songs that describe me.
I'll start off with the SP songs.
This pretty much describes the part of me that struggles for the showing forgiveness and giving love to others.

The Smashing Pumpkins
**** you (an ode to no one)

im never coming back
im never giving in
ill never be the shine in your spit
i disconnect the act
i disconnect the dots
i disconnect the me in me
and you're mistake, it's you that's faking
living and breathing and dying too
you can't bring me back, you can't bring me back
cause i give it all back to you
thru sacred alleys, the living wrecks
wreak their havoc upon this world
the disenchanted, the romantics
the body and face and soul of you is gone down that deep black hole
destroy the mind-destroy the heart
and you, you make me so i need to disconnect
and you make it so real
i don't need your love to disconnect
to runaround kids in get-go cars
with vaseline afterbirths and neon coughs
galaxies full of nobodies
giving us the farewell runarounds
i took a virgin mary axe to his sweet baby jane, lost my innoncence to a no good girl, scratch my
face with anvil hands, and coil my tongue around a bumblebee mouth
and i give it all back to you
no way, i don't need it, i don't need your love to disconnect
and you make it, so real, i don't need your love to disconnect
no way to disconnect
and you make it so real
i don't need your love to disconnect
no way to disconnect

Other SP songs include: "Cherub Rock", "disarm", and "stumbleine".

Others are:

Creed song "My Own Prison" and "Pity for a Dime"
Everclear's song "Everything to Everyone"
Dave Matthew's Band's "Crash"

A_O:I just bought Siamese Dream and I'm extremely glad I did! Thanks for egging me on to get it. This cd is the best Pumpkins cd of them all! (well out of the 3 albums I own).hehhe.. I understand the lyrics of Mayonaise, but don't understand why they call it Mayonaise.

And just to let you know this Guitair book I was looking through ranked in Top 100 guitar solos put Billy Corgan in two slots. Although he deserved to be a lot higher here are the songs that got ranked:

54. "Geek USA" Soloist: B.Corgan: SD('93)
97. "Cherub Rock" Soloist: B.Corgan: SD('93)

I personally thought that other songs deserved to be in place of these. But that's what "Guitar World" thought. Just though you'd like to know

JLink: Yeah, I saw that issue of GW. I must say, they picked some nice songs "Geek U.S.A." has some of the most awesome guitar riffs in any song, and Cherub Rock ain't exactly shabby

I still think that they're sorely missing "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans" ,"Today", and/or "Soma". Talk about guitar!!

"Mayonaise" is called "mayonaise" becasue it was supposedly the first thing Billy saw when he opened the fridge

I'm glad you like it, welcome to the dark side I love that album to death, and I'd also reccomend "Gish". Thier first commercial album...truly a masterpeice.

I can't say enough about SD though...I love all the songs ('specially Mayoniase, Soma, Luna, Spaceboy..ah hell ALL OF 'EM! )

If you get a chance though, you could listen to "Snail" (from the Gish album). You can just go to www.smashing-pumpkins.net and go to the Real Audio section. They have a live version you can listen to. If that song doesn't make you say: "Damn!", then I don't know what will

Also, if you use winAMP, you might wanna check this out www.netphoria.org/AMPdore/index.html , for some smashing pumpkins "skins"

Alright, I think I've done enough damage.

Everythings Gonna Be Alright - Whenever somethings wrong sooner or later everything's gonna be alright...

In a Galaxy - Um... well... um... I live in a galaxy!

Be Who You Wanna Be - I'm who I wanna be...

Who Do You Love - Good question...

I've Got A Feeling - I do... really!

C'est Fantastique - Translated : It's fantastic...

Why Don't You Take Me - Yeah... my friends would know what this means... I would too...

So there you have it...
