The Gators are football National Champions!!!!!!!
I went up to Gainesville to watch the game in the O'dome, and to then party on University Ave after the blowout. It was probably the loudest I'd ever heard it in there after each touchdown was scored, and the entire environment was electric. It's still hard to believe that we now have both the basketball and football championships at the same time, and that they both happened my last year at UF so I got to experience each of those championship seasons first hand. It's Great To Be A Florida Gator!
And low and behold that means a picture update of photos from watching the game:
The crowd of people to get in (notice the crowd surfer)
Wearing the free tshirt everyone got
The video screen and crowd starting to head out to University
Celebrating!
And for the first time, video! Very crappy quality due to it being from a digital camera, and then uploaded to Youtube:
Orange and Blue Cheer
Go Gators cheer (for some reason the video and audio became unsynced when I upload it to youtube)
It's Great.. to be.. a Florida Gator
Celebrating a 2nd quarter touchdown
Celebrating Tebow's 4th quarter touchdown to seal the win
Out on University
I had a hunch it was going to be a great day Monday when that morning I managed to get tickets to see Conan O'Brien tape his show in New York. So tune in January 30th and you may get to hear me (along with a few hundred other people) laugh on national TV!
To tide me over, one of my friends linked me to his Harvard commencement speech for the class of 2000.
So only one more week left until I leave for DC, and I just checked the weather. The high will be 38. After 8 years of living in Florida, this might take some getting used to.
